Sean Tomlinson

Sean is a comparative physiologist with a background in thermal biology and metabolic ecology. Following a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Botany, he undertook higher degree research into the ecological energetic patterns in Honey Possums, Australian rodents and carnivorous marsupials. His subsequent research interests have expanded to novel statistical models of thermoregulation and thermal tolerance, gut passage and its contribution to seed dispersal, the physiological limitations of unique trap-door spiders the ecophysiology of unique insect pollinators. Most of this research has generated management guidelines through spatial modelling of animal ecophysiology. Sean’s most recent research activity at Kings Park has been in developing research into seed metabolic ecology. He currently holds a Research Fellowship in rare plant restoration with the Centre for Mining Restoration.
