Part of the executive management team, providing high-level managerial support, business advice and co-ordinating the administraive operations of the centre.
Dr Renee Young is an experienced manager and environmental scientist working over the past 15 years' in both the academic and mining industry arenas. Renee completed her PhD at Kings Park and UWA in seed ecology and ex-situ conservation before working as a senior botanist and managing a large team at a leading environmental consultancy. Renee returned to the academia space to manage the ARC Centre for Mine Site Rehabilitation bringing her experience in managing large and complex projects, quality control, delivery, staff development, marketing and business management. Renee’s on-the-ground knowledge, experience in mine-site restoration across the state and understanding of the limitations and challenges currently faced by industry assists her to facilitate and coordinate the multi-disciplinary research being undertaken through the centre.
