Dr Jason Stevens manages BGPA’s restoration science program. This program integrates all aspects of restoring native flora to degraded areas including those impacted by mining. Research themes include: defining restoration targets; identification and optimal use of resources (seed, topsoil, plants) for restoration; understanding plant function (plant-soil-water interactions) to define risks, processes and resilience in restored systems. Working for the past 10 years with industry partners across various ecological systems including Banksia Woodlands and Banded Iron Formations has enabled the formulation of operational solutions to achieve restoration outcomes beyond compliance.
