Dr Shane Turner is a UWA/Kings Park Research Fellow working on the BHP-Billiton sponsored Restoration Seedbank Initiative and currently leads a team researching methods for overcoming seed dormancy in species required for minesite restoration. Dr Turner has produced over 60-refereed scientific papers and book chapters since 2000 on a diverse range of conservation/restoration-related subjects. Research interests include the conservation of threatened plant species, native seed biology and ecology, developing methods to improve direct seeding techniques, and plant tissue culture and cryogenics.
