Jaume Ruscalleda

Jaume is a conservation biologist with a background in GIS and remote sensing. Through two master degrees, he has had research experience in the field of bacterioplankton functional ecology in a Mediterranean coastal lagoon and in the field of conservation prioritisation of Mediterranean terrestrial habitats through spatial analysis. During the last 5 years (2011-2016) he has been working for an NGO in Belize, Central America, focusing on forest conservation through protected area management and community development work. In this time, he has lead new strategies of forest management and agricultural soil restoration, as well as been responsible for local and national land use change and forest cover assessments.
